Federal Skilled Workers (FSW)

Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

Language skills
English or French skills:

- CLB/NCLC 4 for reading and writing
Amount of work experience
Two years within last 5 years (either combination of full-time or part-time work)
Job offer
Required:
- A valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least 1 year; or
- A certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
Education
Not required.

Only the following NOC groups are accepted for this stream
- Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades
- Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades
- Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production
- Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
- Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks
- Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Note that your CRS Score in this chart is reflected with the assumption that you have a nomination certificate. Thus 600 points is added to your CRS score.

If you’re eligible for one of the above programs, you can also apply through Express Entry for the Provincial Nominee Program.
If you’re nominated, you’ll get extra 600 points so you can be invited to apply quickly.

This chart gives you a holistic overview of all Express Entry draws since it launched on January 1, 2015. Therefore it can give you an idea about which streams of Express Entry have a quicker turn out.
How Can I Improve my Chances?
Tip #1: Language, Language, Language:- If you get CLB 7 or higher, you will get additional points for your post-secondary education (50 points) and foreign work experience (50 points)
- Canada is a bilingual country with English and French as its official languages. As such, showing skills in both languages will give you a CRS point boost:
- If you score NCLC 7 or higher on all four French language skills, you can get:
- 25 additional points for English CLB 4 or lower
- 50 additional points for English CLB 5 or higher
- If you score NCLC 7 or higher on all four French language skills, you can get:
- Securing an eligible offer of employment can earn you 200 points. You may be eligible for these additional points through LMIA-exempt offers of employment under programs such as ICT, or C-11
- If you earn a credential of one or two years in Canada, you will get 15 additional points, and if you earn a credential of three years or longer in Canada, you will get 30 additional points.
